So that there are no surprises, here is a list of costs that are the responsibility of the buyer. Note that this is a sample of costs and your costs might vary depending on your country.
Auction Purchase Fees
Each auction charges a winning bid fee. These range in price from 7,000 yen - 22,000 yen for most vehicles. This is an additional fee that will be added to your invoice. This fee is exactly what we pay and isn't marked up.
Transport from Auction to Port of Export
We buy from any auction across Japan. This means that transport costs will vary. Typical costs are from 15,000 - 60,000 yen. CLICK HERE for a list of the transport costs. These costs pass on the volume-discounts we receive from the transport companies.
Ocean Freight to your Country
We can ship to any country that allows importing of vehicles. We can ship via RORO or container and will suggest the best option for you based on your country. Costs vary from country to country and by the size of the vehicle. Average costs are around 220,000 yen per vehicle. Please email us if you would like a shipping quote.
Customs Clearance in Your Country
Every country has their own import regulations and import costs. These are typically in the form of customs duty, tax, excise fees, and terminal fees. Costs may vary from port to port as well. Contact a customs broker in your country for a quote on import costs.
Country Specific post-export exams (New Zealand, Kenya, etc.)
Some countries require you to pre-inspect the vehicle before shipping it out of Japan. These countries typically have strict import regulations and so be sure to research what they are before buying. Costs vary from country to country so email us if you have any quesitons.
Compliance and Registration costs in your Country
Once the vehicle is legally in your country, it is time to get it on the road. These costs are typically the same as buying any used car in your country but might also require safety inspections or compliance. These costs can be hard to predict. We can help for some countries so feel free to ask us.
